Australian and Aboriginal Art News: The coveted 24th Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award competition was held on the 10th of August 2007 in Darwin.
Winners include:
The $40,000 Telstra Art Award went to Dennis Nona for his cast bronze sculpture, Ubirikubiri.
The $4,000 Telstra General Painting Award went to Angelina George for her work Near Ruined City.
The $4,000 Telstra Bark Painting Award went to Margaret Rarru Garrawurra for her work Ngarra Body Paint Design.
The $4,000 Telstra Works on Paper Award went to Alick Tipoti for his work Gubau Aimai Mabaigal.
The $4,000 Telstra Wandjuk Marika Three-Dimensional Memorial Award went to Laurie Nilsen for his work Goolburris on the Bungil Creek.
